Snowboard binding
Objective
The highback of the snowboard binding should be rigid so that the board can be well lead. At the same time, it is necessary to have a low torsion-resistance in order to reduce twisting of the knee. Moreover, an attractive design at a low cost is necessary.
Solution
The reinforcement structure in the interior of the highbacks is manufactured out of Heavy Tows which are orientated in a vertical direction corresponding to the contour. The allotment of ± 45° - fibers has been minimized. That implies a high resistance to bending at low torsion-resistance. To fulfill the design expectations, the mechanical operative TFP structure was covered by a CFK textile.
